Profile

Activity

The appointed candidate will participate in an ERC-funded research project aimed at exploring the effects of sensory stimulation protocols on brain activity and dream imagery during sleep. In particular, the candidate is expected to create experimental paradigms and analyze behavioral and electrophysiological data including high-density EEG (256 electrodes), EMG and EOG, as well as to contribute to data collection. The candidate will be part of the MoMiLab Unit, the Cognitive Neuroscience community of IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, under the supervision of Dr. Giulio Bernardi. National and international collaborations will integrate the research team.
Formal requirements

    A PhD in Neuroscience, Bioengineering or related fields;
    An excellent command of English language (written and spoken);
    A good track record of research experience and outcomes related to the field of this position;
    Experience with the acquisition of EEG data;
    Experience with the analysis of continuous EEG data collected during sleep and/or wakefulness, as well as with the analysis of stimulus-evoked EEG activity;

Post-doc position in Cognitive Neuroscience

A postdoc position is available at the Action-Perception Laboratory, University of Verona, Italy for a brain-stimulation project on the sense of agency. The ideal candidate has a PhD in Psychology or Cognitive neuroscience with solid background in human neurophysiology, experimental psychology and statistical methods. Expertise with Matlab and TMS is welcome.

The position is funded for 12 months, starting approximately in February 2021. Extension for one more year is possible based on funding and candidate’s performance.

Sarà a breve disponibile un assegno di ricerca per un ricercatore/trice post-doc per collaborare ad un progetto sulla stimolazione cerebrale non invasiva applicata alla riabilitazione della Malattia di Alzheimer, sotto la supervisione di Carlo Miniussi presso il gruppo Cognition Neurostimulation & Connectivity https://www.cimec.unitn.it/en/CoNeCo

L'obiettivo generale del progetto è valutare l'efficacia clinica, cognitiva e funzionale del trattamento di stimolazione magnetica transcranica associata con la riabilitazione cognitiva. Il ruolo del collaboratore di ricerca sarà di implementare, verificare e condurre il progetto di ricerca che prevede la gestione del protocollo di riabilitazione, le valutazioni neuropsicologiche e neurofisiologiche.

Il contratto iniziale è per 12 mesi, ma sarà esplorata la possibilità di estensione.

Lo stipendio netto sarà tra 1500 e 1800 Euro/mese.

I/Le candidati/e devono dimostrare di possedere una buona esperienza di ricerca (documentata da pubblicazione di articoli scientifici). L’intento perseguito è quello di individuare e selezionare, gli studi di ricerca nell'ambito medico e biotecnologico che risultino un fiore all'occhiello per il panorama della ricerca medico - scientifica Italiana.

I lavori pervenuti  saranno valutati e selezionati dal Comitato Scientifico, presieduto dal Prof. Walter Ricciardi e ai 3 autori di studi di ricerca che maggiormente si sono distinti per prestigio e innovazione sarà conferito dal Comitato d’Onore, presieduto dal Dott. Aldo Carosi, Vicepresidente delle Corte Costituzionale, Il Premio “Recti Eques”.

I 3 premi “Recti Eques” per la ricerca saranno suddivisi in:

- Miglior lavoro presentato da under-35 (alla data di pubblicazione);

- Miglior lavoro presentato da over-35 (alla data di pubblicazione);

- Miglior lavoro presentato nell'ambito Sars-CoV-2/COVID-19.

Saranno selezionate e valutate le ricerche in ambito medico e biotecnologico pubblicate su autorevoli riviste scientifiche dal 2015 ad oggi, ad opera di ricercatori italiani.

The Cognitive, Social and Affective Neuroscience (CoSAN) Ph.D. is a multi-centre, international Ph.D. program. CoSAN seeks highly motivated applicants to investigate the neural correlates of cognitive, social and affective functions including empathy, intention and emotion understanding, joint action, cooperative and competitive behaviour, ingroup and outgroup processing and Self-Other distinction. These topics will be studied in typical, as well as in subclinical, clinical and neuropsychological participants.

The San Camillo IRCCS is a clinical and research center accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health for the study and treatment of neurological patients. It is the hub of a large neuroscientific and health care network, serving more than five million people in Venice-Veneto region, Italy.

We are looking for brilliant post-doctoral researchers with background in neuroscience, neurology, and engineering interested in working in the fields of translational neuroimaging, non-invasive brain stimulation, advanced neurophysiology, computational neuroscience.

[Position 2] - 3-years project on lesion-symptom mapping in brain tumor patients in the domain of motor control and language.
